Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation

Pinhole surgery, developed by Dr. Chao, is a ground breaking technique for gum revuvenation.  Over time, some people develop receeding gum tissue that can become unsightly and potentially lead to tooth loss.  Traditionally, this condition is treated with grafting procedures that involve removing tissue from the roof of the mouth and transplanting it to the teeth with recession.  While this procedure is a predictable means to gain root surface coverage, it is also associated with pain from both surgical sites.  The Chao Pinhole Technique does not rely upon taking tissue from the roof of the mouth.  Instead, a small hole is placed in the tissue above the gums and then the gums are pushed downwards to cover the recessionl  Collagen is placed to keep the tissue in place.  No sutures, no donor site.

Dr. Brown is one of a few dentists worldwide who is certified by the Chao Pinhole Academy as a provider of this technique.  The video below will illustrate the differences between conventional grafting and the Chao Pinhole Technique.
