Veneers Are a Beautiful Cover-Up

No one has perfect teeth. If you see someone who appears to have perfect teeth, it’s likely they have porcelain veneers. At Implant Dentistry of Florida, we use our CEREC system to provide our patients with same-day porcelain veneers for a beautiful smile.
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are applied to the fronts of the teeth to mask various imperfections and create a perfect smile. Veneers can alter the tooth shape, size, color, or position.
What cosmetic issues can we cover with veneers?
At Implant Dentistry of Florida, we use porcelain veneers to cover a variety of flaws:
- Chipped teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Pitted or uneven surfaces
- Badly stained or discolored teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Cracked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
It is important to remember that porcelain veneers are only cosmetic, meaning they don’t address underlying issues with teeth such as decay or deep cracks. Problems such as those must be corrected before any veneers can be applied.
How are they applied?
At Implant Dentistry of Florida, we can prepare your teeth and place the veneers in the same day, where most practices require at least two appointments (and a waiting period in between) for porcelain veneers. We can do this through our CEREC 3D system.
When you come in we first clean your teeth. If necessary, we may recommend whitening to get your teeth back to their original natural color. Next, we use a shade guide to determine the color of your veneers to match your natural tooth color.
Then the teeth are prepared for the veneers. This involves shaving off a fraction of the enamel on the front of each tooth that will receive a veneer. We then take various measurements and send those to our CEREC system. The CEREC system makes a 3D simulation of your teeth with the veneers on them. We can then make any adjustments and OK the system for milling. The CEREC system then mills your veneers from a block of dental porcelain in just 30 minutes or so. When they are finished, we check the fit and then permanently attach them to your teeth. Now your perfect smile is ready for all to see!
